A Journey to the Cross

St Mary’s Singers will be joined by the highly acclaimed Gesualdo Six for the Palm Sunday service on Sunday 5^th April at 6.00 pm. The service will commence with a series of readings interspersed with music by Pӓrt, Górecki, Ole Gjeilo, Tavener and Jonathan Dove followed by the Arvo Pӓrt’s profound Passio.

A Concert of Tallis

On Saturday May 9^that 7.30 pm, St Mary’s Singers will be joining forces with the renowned Marian Consort in a concert exploring the music of Thomas Tallis, showing the different facets of his music and the variety of styles and choral forces involved during the successive reigns of Henry VIII, Edward VI, Mary and Elizabeth I. The concert will showcase the full range of Tallis’ writing from four to forty voices culminating in the magnificent forty part motet Spem in Alium.
